Mayor Zayco said the DepED works hand in hand with the local government to attain its goal for the continuous progress of the city. The mayor thanked the Kabankalanons for their support in helping the city become number 13th among the small-sized cities in the country in a survey conducted by the Asian Institute of Management Policy Center.
Meanwhile, Garay said her impression of Kabankalan was that of a livable city whose clean and green surroundings reminded her of UP campus.
The program at the plaza was followed by the blessing of the newly-renovated post office officiated by Rev. Fr. Jun Estoque of the Little Way College Seminary.
Cutting the ceremonial ribbon was first lady Dottie Zayco assisted by Villanueva with Lilia Barcelon, Philippine Postal regional director.
Mayor Zayco said there was a big saving in the renovation of the post office. He said Php260,000 was spent out of its Php300,000 budget because the students of the Kabankalan Training Center helped in its construction. (Eddie M. Yap)
