Bidders invited to furnish new gov't center
BACOLOD CITY -- The Bacolod City Government is inviting all interested bidders to apply for eligibility and submit bid proposals for the procurement of furniture and fixtures for the New Bacolod City Government Center.
According to Vice Mayor Jude Thaddeus Sayson, who was designated by Mayor Evelio Leonardia to spearhead a special body for this purpose, a complete set of bid documents are available to interested bidders at the Secretariat of the Bids and Awards Committee (BAC) and the deadline of submission to qualify is August 7, 2008.
Sayson told the city hall press that there is no definite scheduled yet when to transfer all the offices from old city hall to the new government center because the city is yet to award the contract for the furnishings and fixtures in the new government center..
Sayson also said that since it is already in the BAC Secretariat, they are awaiting the results after procedures are completed. Meanwhile BAC Secretariat In-Charge Melvin Recabar released last Friday the criteria on how interested bidders may qualify. Among those stipulated is that a prospective bidder should have completed three similar contracts and which aggregate contract amount should be equivalent to at least fifty percent (50%) of the Approved Budget of Contract (ABC) of the project being bidded.
On the other hand, BAC Chairman Atty. Goldwyn Nifras informed that the Bids and Awards Committee shall use the "pass/fail" criteria to determine the eligibility of prospective bidders. Bacolod City Government reserves the right to reject any application for eligibility or all bids without any reason, waive any required formality therein, and to make an award to the bidder whose proposal is most advantageous to the city government and will not assume any obligation to compensate bidder/s for any expenses that they may have incurred in the preparation of respective bids.
Atty. Nifras also released the schedule of activities where the deadline for the submission of Bids will be on August 20, 2008 not later than 10:00 am at the BAC Secretariat Office at the Bacolod City Hall.
