DOST's ASTHRDP offers MS and PhD Scholarships
In order to help improve the country's global competitiveness and to accelerate the production of high-level human resources needed for S&T activities, the Department of Science and Technology (DOST) offers scholarships for Master's and Doctorate degrees in priority S&T areas. These scholarship programs are being implemented through the Accelerated Science and Technology Human Resource Development Program (ASTHRDP).
The two types of scholarships available are the university-based MS/PhD Program and Thesis/Dissertation Grant Support for R&D priority areas of DOST. The university based MS/PhD Program is available to new students and on-going graduate students who have already taken MS/PhD units in priority S&T fields.
Scholars will be entitled to privileges which includes actual tuition and other school fees, monthly stipend of Php12,000/month for MS scholars and Php20,000 per month for PhD scholars, book allowance of Php7,500/year, transportation allowance of Php10,000/year, group insurance, and thesis/dissertation grant of up to Php30,000 for MS scholars and Php60,000 for PhD scholars.
Application forms can be downloaded at www.science-scholarships.ph or can be secured from DOST VI Regional Office, Magsaysay Village La Paz, Iloilo City, or from the nearest Provincial Science and Technology Center.
