A Rotary induction and turnover in one
Emma Nava and Past District Governor
Phil Abello.
It was a special night for Rotarians last June 13, 2008 because there were two reasons to celebrate. First, it was the induction of the governor of Rotary International District 3850, Emma Nava and the induction of the new president of the Rotary Club of Central Iloilo City, Richard Angeles and some new members. The event was held at Amigo Terrace Hotel.
The guest speaker was Dr. Linda Que and the inducting officer was Past District Governor Oscar Nava, Jr., the better half of District 3850's new governor.
Gov. Nava's speech revolved on supporting the thrusts of RI President Dong Kurn Lee. This is focused on reducing child mortality through literacy, health, hunger and water.
Induction of New members
"The tasks look burdensome and overwhelming from the point of view of individual clubs. However, together as one district, we can achieve all these. With over 50 clubs, working together or in tandem, we will make dreams real in a very significant manner to the greatest number of those whom we aim to help," she said.
