Ajuy police chief faces barrage of criminal complaints
The murder of Ajuy Vice Mayor Ramon Rojas Jr. has now shifted to yet another (mis) development.
This, as no less than the town's police chief stands accused of a barrage of criminal complaints. Ranging from two counts of unlawful arrest to grave oral defamation and slight physical injuries, named respondent is Police Inspector Ariel Artillero.
The complainants are Lanjagan Barangay Captain Eddie Aguilon and one Paquito Pañisales. Both according to local authorities are identified as associates of reported principal suspect, Vicente Espinosa.
Inspector Artillero in yesterday's chance interview with The News Today (TNT) said he is ready to face the charges even as he dismissed all three as "form of harassments."
Inspector Artillero also shared his belief that the complaints are directly linked to continued police work relative to the Rojas murder.
He had no known previous issues with either Aguilon and Pañisales until the aftermath of the vice mayor's killing.
To recall, Aguilon was arrested in one police operation and detained following the recovery of an M16 armalite rifle. He was however released after posting bail thereafter.
Inspector Artillero said the questioned firearm was licensed yet lacked Permit To Carry (PTC).
