Dengue downs 3 preschoolers in Iloilo
Three suspected cases of dengue hemorrhagic fever downed kindergarten students in a private school here.
Iloilo Provincial Health Officer Patricia Grace Trabado said that she has sent a sanitary inspector to verify the report in Duenas town so that prompt action could be taken.
The children, pupils at the Dueñas Christian Learning Center, were confined at the Iloilo Doctor's Hospital and Iloilo Mission Hospital last Saturday because of the signs and symptoms of dengue hemorrhagic fever.
But aside from these children, two more adults have been diagnosed with the disease also in Dueñas.
Dueñas Mayor Robert Martin U. Pama, in an interview, said he would have the report verified so that spread of the disease could be prevented.
As per monitoring of the IPHO, Dueñas now has a total of seven monitored cases since January this year.
Trabado said that they will launch an information drive about dengue hemorrhagic fever in Dueñas to make the people aware of how to prevent acquiring the disease. She said that environmental sanitation is still primordial. (PNA)
