Damaging to business
The report on Smallville complex being used as haven of illegal drugs transactions is so damaging on the part of the establishments operating in the said area. Smallville complex is currently considered the nightlife capital of Iloilo City. People from the cross section of society flock to the place to relax and enjoy. The Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) should have been circumspect in releasing the report considering its negative implications on the city's business atmosphere. After all, illegal drugs transactions could happen in any place at any time. Instead of publicly releasing such baseless information, they could have conducted operations against those involved in the illegal drugs transactions (if indeed it is true). Ano ang pulos sang sagad wakal kon wala man lang kamo sang madakpan?
Dangerous railings
Kagawad Tong-Tong Plagata is firm in his decision not to remove the railings in the middle of several sections of the Diversion Road. For him the railings would force the motorists to use the correct lane while traversing the Diversion Road. On the contrary, however, being a highway it is better for the Diversion Road not to have those railings because aside from the fact that it poses danger to motorists it can be considered a traffic obstruction. To date, several motor vehicles have already bumped on the railings. Tani indi na paghulaton sang siyudad nga may madulaan pa sang kabuhi antes nila mapensaran nga kuhaon ang mga railings.
Vague provisions
For sure conflicts between motorcycle riders and traffic enforcers would ensue once the Land Transportation Office (LTO) starts implementing Administrative Order (AO) No. 2008-015 prescribing the rules and regulations for the use and operation of motorcycles on highways on September 1, 2008. This is because certain provisions in the said AO are not clear or vague. Take for instance the provision stating that only one "back rider" shall be allowed on a motorcycle or scooter. Questions crop up like, "what if the motorcycle driver lets his passenger sit in front of him?" We'll this is just one of the many questions that may arise in which the LTO should clarify to avoid confusion.
