Bacolod police intensifies drive vs. criminality
BACOLOD CITY -- The Bacolod City Police Office (BCPO) has arrested 47 persons in their campaign against illegal drugs from January 1 to August 8 of this year.
According to BCPO report, 29 operations had been conducted yielding 3.38 grams of suspected shabu, 7.21 grams of marijuana and assorted drug paraphernalia used in sniffing shabu.
The police filed 29 cases against those involved in the commission of the illegal activity.
Also, 52 persons were arrested for illegal gambling where P6,218 as bet money was recovered along with 11 sets of playing cards, 12 sets of gaffs and 41 heads of fighting cocks.
Fifty two (52) persons were arrested and 27 were charged in court.
In the BCPO's campaign against loose firearms, 29 firearms were recovered from 29 persons in 29 operations conducted. All face charges in court.
Furthermore, 151 persons were arrested for theft and robbery in 80 police operations conducted. Among those recovered include: 1 Mitsubishi Adventure, 1 tricycle, P32, 642 cash, cellphones and DVDs.
The police said that for the period January until the first week of this month, the city has been relatively peaceful with no high profile incidence occuring such as bank robbery, kidnapping and other terrorist inititiated atrocities. (PIA-LOL)
