Botika nga Barangay expands in Negros Occidental
BACOLOD CITY -- Rep. Ignacio Arroyo, Jr. (Neg. Occ.5th Dist.) has expanded the "Botika sa Barangay" in his district and recently distributed 22 packages of assorted medicines to the barangays costing to P25,000 per package.
The program was started two years ago with 54 barangays as beneficiaries. Arroyo saw the need to expand for his constituents to avail of cheaper but high quality medicines.
An additional of 20 barangays will also receive their stocks of medicines next week.
Rep. Arroyo urged the "Botika sa Barangay" operators to take care of the small business with a seed capital of P25,000. The operators will also gain profit at the same time the residents will have easy access to medicines and they don't need to go far to buy these drugs.
Rep. Arroyo said he is sure that the mortality rate will be lesser with the accessibility and availability of the "Botika sa Barangay". (PIA/cad)
