CPU alumni homecoming and general assembly meeting
The CPU Alumni Association (CPUAAI) Inc., led by its president, Atty. Von Lovel D. Bedona is in the thick of preparations for the forthcoming alumni homecoming and general assembly meeting of the alumni of Central Philippine University. The theme for this year's homecoming is, "Celebrating the Rainbow After the Flood". The theme expresses the sentiment of gratitude of the Alumni Association for how the alumni of the University supported the recovery and rehabilitation efforts after the devastating flood caused by Typhoon Frank.
The annual gathering of Centralians who are spread across the globe will be on Saturday September 6, 2008 at 8 o'clock in the morning at the Rose Memorial Auditorium. After the general assembly meeting the fellowship will continue with a luncheon at the University Gymnasium. The Search for the 2008 Alumni Homecoming Queen will also be held during the luncheon. The Search will be participated by the representatives of the different colleges and departments of the University. As the Search is an activity to raise funds for the noble projects of the CPUAAI, the proceeds realized from this year's Search will be utilized to assist the faculty and staff of CPU who suffered from the flood.
The alumni homecoming will culminate with the Alumni Night at 6 in the evening at the Iloilo Grand Hotel. The 2008 Alumni Homecoming Queen will be crowned during the activity.
Tickets are sold at P250.00 (for the Alumni Homecoming Luncheon) and P500.00 for the Alumni Night. For reservations please see Tina Hortelano at the Office for Alumni Affairs, CPU or call at telephone numbers, 329-2904; 329-1971 (local 1033).
