Cleaning up Tinagong Dagat
A foggy morning at Tinagong Dagat.
A wise passage goes this way, "We don't inherit the earth from our ancestors, we borrow it for our children." Same passage also goes, "The earth is a loan to us from God, and we are here as leaseholders with huge responsibilities." Both speak of one thing - we should take good care of our natural resources more wisely for the future generation.
The Philippine Rural Reconstruction Youth Association-Negros (PRRYA-Negros Chapter), a youth organization of young professionals and college students in different universities and colleges in Bacolod had a clean-up drive activity at Patag, Silay City Tinagong Dagat together with Rashids Outdoor and Tikang Outdoor Team and the Department of Energy and Natural Resources- Iloilo (DENR- Iloilo).
The writer (in red) with the group.
The activity was designed for young enviroment advocates and nature lovers to personally experience the beauty and wonder of nature and strengthen the efforts in environment protection and preservation.
Tinagong Dagat (Hidden Sea) is a sea-like lake found in the middle of a mountain, and this wonderful creation is situated in the middle of two cities in Negros, Talisay City (Patag) and Silay City (Campuestuhan). That's why some will say that it is found in Silay and some will say it is in Talisay.
The said group of environmentalists had enjoyed the beautiful art of nature.
