Patadyong Power for Parcon
With a mix of classic styles in modern interpretations of contemporary Filipino ensembles, the designer featured insane color combinations
The good thing about fashion now using our local hand-loomed fabrics is that it is so broad and inclusive of self-expression. Our patadyong, colorful and playful, were brought to life by Bo Parcon, one of Iloilo's talented and award-winning designers.
Interchangeably referred to as the "bad boy" of Iloilo fashion, his collection was about his own interpretation of colors, silhouette, and use of the fabric. With a mix of classic styles in modern interpretations of contemporary Filipino ensembles, the designer featured insane color combinations.
The show began with a sound note as models lined-out in tableu of bold, energetic, respectful, but not too sweet outfits that followed through in brightly colored patadyong cut-outs in sporty shapes and glamorous patchwork for him. It gradually ended with draped, bold-colored period dresses in bright fuchsia, pink, and eternal black for her. His many-textured dressing is upheld with such grace Parcon almost makes it look easy. His short-sleeved coat over a succulent gathered double-silk skirt, accessorized with silver Aztec-design fashion neck pieces by Jor-el Espina that captured something essential about the romantic, drifty fantasy of Parcon's trademark.
In this third featured fashion show for the 1st Indigenous Fashion Market Week, SM City's appropriately small runway, the models led by Supermodel Ria Bolivar managed to demonstrate enough flair of the designer's fragile-like flowy gowns.
