Villar pushes entrepreneurship among Iloilo barangays leaders
Senate President Manny Villar strongly pushed entrepreneurship during the Iloilo Liga ng mga Barangay (LnB) provincial convention held yesterday at the Grand Majestic Convention City in Cebu City.
"Only when we have a broad base of entrepreneurs nationwide can we conquer poverty and attain prosperity. It is the entrepreneurial spirit of innovation, courage, perseverance and flexibility that will provide the much needed lift from from our current situations," said the Nacionalista Party president who hails from Iloilo.
"We need to accelerate the development and emergence of a critical mass of entrepreneurs who will trigger an entrepreneurial revolution that will unleash energy and creativity benefitting our economy," Villar told his kasimanwas.
Villar urged the 1,721 barangay captains of Iloilo's 42 municipalities and a component city to promote entrepreneurship among their constituents in seeking to uplift their lives.
In further substantiating his message, the Senate President gave a seed amount of P50,000 to spur the livelihood projects of LnB. He underscored the need to provide livelihood trainings for the people to help them get them started in their chosen fields in business.
Outside the Senate halls, the Senate President actively sponsors Sipag at Tiyaga Caravan Kaalaman, which travels all over the country conducting livelihood seminars for citizens.
