Raid nets 5 sex workers
No govt permit, no sex trade
Five women believed to be commercial sex workers were temporarily detained at the Iloilo City Police Office (ICPO).
This, after operatives of the Task Force Addams Apple of the Iloilo City Government conducted a raid. Task Force agents swooped down the stretch of Arroyo Street, Iloilo City proper late Tuesday evening.
Health permits issued to pre-screened commercial sex workers and those in the nightclub/nightspot industry were demanded.
The five apparently had nothing to show thus the arrest of the Task Force members.
In a report, The News Today (TNT) gathered that those detained are "usual suspects."
From the group came the 20 year-old resident of Wilson Street, City Proper, yet another 20 year-old local from Zone 5, Boulevard, Molo, Iloilo City. Also detained was 29 year-old resident of South San Jose in Molo District with a fellow 29 year-old from Barangay San Miguel, Iloilo City. The fifth 'suspect' was a 44 year-old widower of Barangay Calubihan, Molo, Iloilo City.
It was not immediately clear if charges will be filed though sources told TNT that "normally" compliance thereafter to the sought permits is enough.
