Silay City celebrates Tourism Month
Silay City's opening salvo for tourism month celebration, this September is the forging of a sister-city relationship and twinning program with Makati City at Balay Negrense Museum.
Silay City Mayor Jose Montelibano said this people to people program is aimed at establishing greater friendship and understanding between peoples of varied but similar adherence to political, social-cultural, agricultural and economic programs through the medium of direct inter-personal contract.
The theme of the month long celebration, which focuses on investment, ecology, arts, culture, health, agriculture and peace, is "Ugyon Silaynon, Turismo Pabaskugon".
Balay Negrense Museum and Jalandoni House Museum are also providing free entrance and guided tours to Silaynons from Sept.1-7.
The San Diego Pro Cathedral will also be made available for pilgrims and tourists who would like to avail of mini lecture and a visit to the ruins of the old church which is now a prayer room. (PIA/cad)
