Iloilo's PSWDO chief is most outstanding in the country
Mrs. Neneth Q. Pador, the Provincial Social Welfare and Development Officer of the Province of Iloilo, was recently awarded as the Most Outstanding Provincial Social Welfare and Development Officer in the whole country during the Gawad Parangal For Social Services in recognition of her outstanding performance and service in social work and development besting 80 other PSWD officers all over the country.
The awarding ceremonies was held during the national convention of Local Social Welfare and Development Officers of the Philippines, Incorporated at the Waterfront Hotel, Cebu City from August 26 – 29, 2008. The convention's theme was "Building Strong Families: The social welfare and development response, "Matatag na Pamilya, Matatag na Republika."
Other Awardees are: Day Care Worker - Ms. Restituta Z. Ramos, Brgy Poblacion, Candelaria, Quezon; Chapter - Quezon Province Chapter; Municipal MSWDO - Ms. Marybeth M. Ortiz, Guagua, Pampanga; Mayor - Hon. Raul S. Umali, Tiaong, Quezon; Hon. Celson Lobregat, Zamboanga City; Hon. Eduardo B. Dimacuha, Batangas City and Governors: Hon. Rolando E. Yebes, Zamboanga del Norte; Hon. Bellaflor J. Angara Castillo, Aurora Province.
In her acceptance speech, Mrs. Pador expressed her gratitude to the provincial government of Iloilo under the able leadership of Gov. Niel D. Tupas, Sr. as well as to all the MSWDOs, Day Care Workers and her immediate PSWDO family. She adds that "this award will spur me on to serve even more with pressure brought forth by the focus of so many eyes and ears, scrutinizing the woman whom they have adjudged outstanding."
"Today, I am being affirmed of the truth that as social workers, we affect the lives of everyone on this journey of life and I have even greater responsibility now to strengthen the goals and objectives of my office. Making a difference in the lives of people is one of the best legacies we can make in our own way" added Mrs. Pador. (Capitol News)
