BSP gives relief assistance to typhoon victims in Leganes, Pavia towns
The Boy Scouts of the Philippines (BSP) headed by its National President Jejomar C. Binay and Secretary General J. Rizal Pangilinan recently gave assistance to selected families affected by typhoon Frank in the towns of Leganes and Pavia, Iloilo.
At least 700 deserving families benefited from the said relief operation conducted last August 29, 2008 in the said towns.
The BSP relief operation was assisted by Department of Education district supervisors Dir. Arthur Sales of NSS, Myles Melodias, BDM for Visayas, Mr. Lorezo Sayco, BSP Iloilo Council, Leganes Mayor Adolfo Jaen and WVR staff.
Atty. Joshua C. Alim, BSP National Office, BSP National Scoutshop, BSP Bohol Council, BSP IloiloCouncil and BSP WVR also contributed to the success of the relief operation.
BSP National President Binay said the August 29, 2008 distribution of relief assistance was part of a continuing relief operation to the families affected by typhoon Frank in Iloilo and on the whole Panay island as well.
On his part, Atty. Alim said that "scouting is not only for scouts and scouters, its service is not only to members but to fellowmen."
