Chief Inspector Leo Batiles said that Oliva (not Lara as ealier reported) was captured by elements of the Roxas City PNP station along Corner Legaspi-Bilbao here immediately after he escaped from the cell.
Batiles said that on the afternoon of the same day, Maquimot thru his family sent a feeler to Inzo Arnaldo Bgry. Captain Regalado Capapas to voluntarily surrender to the police.
In the evening of the same day at around 9:45 p.m., Calara also voluntarily surrendered to the city police.
Batiles said that the three inmates cut the iron grills of the cell taking advantage of the heavy rains. SPO1 Robenisto Castro was the jail guard on duty that time.
Batiles said the hack saw blade used in cutting the iron lock of the cell came from other inmates who took it from the visitors.
He said because of the incident new measures will be implemented in the Roxas City PNP lock up cell to ensure that it will not happen again.
Meanwhile, SPO1 Castro will be placed under investigation to determined if he incurred lapses which led to the jailbreak.
