Seven renowned Iloilo-based contemporary artists showcased their one-of-a-kind collections of work of art in Lopues' Gallery Orange.
The official opening of the exhibit was led by Charlie Co, owner of the Gallery Orange as he welcomed the artists. He said that sometime ago, Bacolod artists were once featured in Iloilo also and now is the perfect time to return the same kindness to the Ilonggo artists. The ribbon cutting ceremony was highlighted with the presence of guest of honors, Architect Armando Guevarra (2003-2005 President Of the United Architects of the Philippines, and Marketing Manager of Davies Paints) and Raymound Fuentes, chairman of Tourism and Performing Arts Society (TAPAS), president of Negrense Heritage Society (NHSI), president of the Philippine Institute of Interior Designers Bacolod Chapter (PIID). The ceremony was hosted by Carmel Hibaler, manager of Gallery Orange.

The artists works are primarily the mirror of our society, a collection that incorporates all the sufferings and human quandary from all sorts of commercial slavery, violence and poverty. Nevertheless, The Ilonggo artists were successful in the attempt in terms of putting things in perspective.
The art exhibit will run from Sept. 2 to 18, 2008. The gallery is open from Monday to Saturday at 2 to 9 pm.
