Baklay Bukid 2008
Preparing for the trek.
Baklay Bukid is an annual event of the Department of Environment and Natural Resources with the objective of embracing the life of the people in upland areas.
This year, they went to Maasin, a rural area in Iloilo to see the damage made by typhoon Frank. Volunteers from different sectors of the government, school- based organizations, freelance mountaineers in Negros and local media (ABS- CBN and GMA) joined.
They passed through Daha River going to the mountain of Tranka where they extended their help. They gave school supplies and relief goods to the locals out there.
This activity was not just an adventure or for fun but was made with concern to the affected victims of typhoon Frank.
The group's satisfied with
helping Frank's victims.
