Lowest bid contractors undergo BAC scrutiny
BACOLOD CITY -- The Bids and Awards Committee (BAC) is now starting their post qualification procedure for Legacy Construction to verify the details stated in its bid documents after the company tendered the lowest bid for the renovation and expansion of the Valladolid District Hospital.
BAC Chairman Percival Salido Jr. said, hopefully by the first or second week of October, they will be able to issue the Notice of Award and the Office of the Governor can sign the Notice to Proceed for the project.
Legacy Construction is owned by Alex Abelido and got the lowest bid among the four contractors who joined the biding for the project with bid amount of P15,936,980.99. The project has an Approved Budget Contract (ABC) of P19,339,354 from provincial government coffers.
Galeno Construction was the second lowest bidder at P16,616,790.31; B.E. Construction came in third with its bid of P18,330,913.50; and the fourth is MicroAsia Builders' with bid proposal of P19,180,979.63.
The Valladolid District Hospital renovation and expansion was the third multi-million project subjected to public bidding by the provincial government recently.
Meanwhile, B.E. Construction which submitted the lowest calculated bid for the two-storey Male Detention Building of the New Provincial Jail in Barangay Tabunan, Bago City and Pearly Construction's which also tendered the lowest bid for renovation and expansion project of Gov. Valeriano Gatuslao Memorial District Hospital in Himamaylan City are also subjected to post qualification procedure by BAC in compliance with the provisions of Government Procurement Act (R.A 9184).
