Nelly Weiss: A toast to a regal lady
Nelly Palomar-Weiss in her home in
Chicago, Illinois.
Regal lady Nelly Palomar-Weiss of Tapaz, Capiz celebrated her birthday in their ancestral home in the said town. Relatives and close friends came all the way from Metro Manila, Iloilo City, Roxas City, and other towns of Capiz to greet her.
The celebration was a small private party hosted by Aurora Palomar, the celebrator's sister. As always, the food preparation was sumptuous and overflowing, prompting friends and guests to keep coming back to any Palomar celebration despite the distance to Tapaz. Not to mention, the warmth and graciousness of the Palomar sisters in entertaining.
Nelly Weiss is based in Chicago, Illinois, U.S.A. and spends half of the year there and the other half in her hometown in Tapaz. She was married to the late Maurice Weiss, an American Jewish, and she is the founder of the Fil-American Foundation for the Homeless. After she was widowed, Nelly decided to stay longer in her hometown with her sister Aurora, thus, she built a new bedroom for herself in their family house.
Beautiful ladies, all close friends of
Nelly and Au.
The blessing of the new bedroom, with its majestic décors and interiors befitting for a regal lady, coincided with her birthday celebration. The furnitures were made by the local artisans of Tapaz but most of the fixtures and decors were imported from the United States. Awesome was the spacious bathroom with its black Jacuzzi and other luxurious toilet and bath fittings.
Nelly's well-wishers were Mayor Ethel Jinon and Emma Calixterio of Jamindan, Capiz; Norma Rosales, Susan Wang, Susie Facultad, and Baby Villalon of Iloilo City; Atty. Margarita "Ging" Oquendo, Col. Virgilio Casio of Roxas City; Ronald Exmundo of Tapaz; Roberto Palomar and Shy Roa of Metro Manila, among others.
