BFP yet to determine cause of Green Bank fire
ROXAS CITY – The Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) is still investigating the cause of the fire that razed the entire Green Bank Sunday night along Boulevard here.
Fire Inspector Pancho de la Cruz, Roxas City Fire Marshall, said that his office is still gathering evidences that would determine the origin of the fire.
He said that the claim by bank employees that the fire may have been caused by appliances such as electric fan and computers which were left unplugged is still being validated.
De la Cruz said the damage brought by fire reached to P2 million pesos. No one was hurt during the incident.
The fire that started around 12.20 a.m.
One angle being followed by arson investigators is the possibility that somebody could have deliberately set the establishment on fire due to the change of management.
Meanwhile, the management assured their clients and depositors that the bank's operation is back to normal. The back-up files are still stored in the computer.
De la Cruz said he was informed that the bank's former manager was terminated due to several unliquidated expenses and unexplained transactions.
