DA-DepEd to conduct poster making contest
Elementary pupils who are enrolled at present in Grades IV to VI can join the nationwide on-the-spot poster making contest to be conducted by the Department of Agriculture and the Department of Education on October 6, 2008 at the DA Conference Room.
The poster making contest is in connection with the World Food Day celebration which is conducted every year. This year's theme is, "World Food Security: The Challenges of Climate Change and Bioenergy."
The contest is open to all public and DepEd accredited elementary schools.
The poster entry shall be an original creation of the eligible participants. The participants can use any art medium except oil.
The three regional winners will receive Ph 1,000 each from the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO). The board of judges will select one best poster to represent Western Visayas.
At the national level, eight best posters will be chosen from among the 17 regional entries. The eight best posters will receive a cash prize of Ph 10,000 each and a trophy. The winning schools will receive a plaque.
The awarding ceremony for the national level will be on October 16, 2008 during the nationwide celebration of the World Food Day. Awarding ceremonies in the past were held at the Malacanang Palace with Pres. Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo.
