Capitol releases P7M for ECCD program
BACOLOD CITY -- Gov. Isidro P. Zayco led the turn over of checks worth a total of P7,139,116.70 to five municipalities of Negros Occidental during the launching of the Early Childhood Care and Development (ECCD) Program spearheaded by the Provincial Council for the Welfare of Children and the Provincial Government of Negros Occidental at the Governor's Hall, Provincial Capitol, Thursday.
The Municipality of Murcia received P 1,646,264.24; P 1,006,114.24 for Don Salvador Benedicto; P1,172,450 for Calatrava; P 925,212.05 for Toboso; P 812,751.91 for Candoni; P 826,324.26 for Ilog; and P 750,000 for Cauayan.
Themed "Taking care of our future today!", the launching program was attended by representatives of each of the LGUs who personally received the checks.
The programs and services of ECCD include Service Delivery and other Support Programs, Institution Building and System/Project Management such as repair and upgrading of barangay health stations, repair and improvement of day care centers, rehabilitation of learning and resource center, livelihood assistance program, maternal and child care services, immunization program, services to special children, newborn screening, deworming & micronutrient and supplemental feeding, nutrition education, skills training for mothers of pre-schoolers, upgrading of health personnel skills, and parent effectiveness services, among others.
Also present were Vice-Gov. Emilio Yulo III, Mayor Laurence Marxlen dela Cruz of DS Benedicto, Provincial Treasurer Nilda Generoso, Provincial Social Welfare and Dev't Officer and designated Provincial ECCD Officer Liane Garcia, and Asst.
