Habol by Jaki Peñalosa
Ilonggo hablon was mixed with handwoven materials made from other places like Cambodia (silk) and other imported materials.
This was what the public witnessed when Jaki Peñalosa unveiled her latest handwoven collection in Habol, a fashion show in line with the Tumandok Festival organized by the Philippine Tourism Office.
The purpose of the show was to promote the weaving industry as well as new styles in this trade. Jaki said that now, hablon was softened in order to drop (it used to be known as a stiff material), thus it can now be used for cocktail dresses because of its flowing personality. In fact, it can be worn with skinny jeans, too.
Jaki's collection comprises of 40 pieces of day and night wear.
