Capiz dad to invite LTFRB head to shed light on transport woes
ROXAS CITY – A member of the Capiz provincial board is set to invite the head of Land Transportation Franchising Regulatory Board (LTFRB) in region 6 to shed light on the current transportation problems.
Board Member Baden Cantiller, chair of the Committee on Public Utilities, Telecommunication, and Transportation, told The News Today (TNT) that he will invite LTFRB Regional Director Porfirio Clavel to speak on the issues of colorum vehicles, fair hike and the possible operation of taxi cab in Roxas City.
It was learned that some 100 colorum vehicles reportedly exist in Roxas City with the protection of some government officials who receive money from the operators.
Cantiller said he will move to invite the LTFRB regional head next week as there was no quorum in yesterday's session.
Earlier, Cantiller also invited Land Transportation Office (LTO) head Jun Degollado to shed light on the implementation of Administration Order (AO) No. 015 which provides for the regulation on the use of motorcycle on highways.
Cantiller said that the AO 015 is impractical and not applicable in Roxas City and Capiz since the single motorcycle is a major means of transportation especially in the fur-flung barangays.
On his part, Degollado clarified that the LTO only implemented the said AO which originated from the central office.
