Antique towns to make tourism master plan
SAN JOSE, Antique -– More or less forty participants composed of Tourism Officers, Municipal Planning and Development Coordinators and Sangguniang Bayan members from various towns gathered on October 21-25 at Oak Brook, one of the province's top tourist destinations in Mapatag, Hamtic to prepare the tourism masterplans of their respective municipality said Mr. Florentino Egida, head of the Provincial Tourism Office.
The Seminar Writeshop on Municipal Tourism Masterplan aims to assist each participating town formulate a "packaged tourism product," said Egida.
Tourism product includes the destination, activities, services and facilities that would make the tourists' experience enjoyable.
"The tourism concept here (Antique) is mostly 'do-it-yourself'," quipped Egida. "This seminar will enable the towns to have a clear direction and focus."
With "implementable plans", results may be seen in a period of 2-3 years, said Egida.
When finished the municipal plans will be utilized to complete the provincial tourism plan of Antique. Governor, Gov. Sally Z. Perez, is espousing various tourism ventures and projects lately, especially eco-friendly ones. (pio_antique /PIA)
