Republic Act No. 9485, otherwise known as "An Act to Improve Efficiency in the Delivery of Government Service to the Public by Reducing Bureaucratic Red Tape, Preventing Graft and Corruption, and Providing Penalties thereof," or the Anti-Red Tape Act of 2007, was signed into law last June 2, 2007. Pursuant to Section 16 of the said law, the Civil Service Commission shall promulgate the Implementing Rules and Regulations (IRR) of RA 9485. The said IRR was issued through CSC Resolution No. 081471, s. 2008 and took effect last September 5, 2008.
As such, CSCRO6 will spearhead the one-day Orientation-Seminar on the Anti-Red Tape Act of 2007 to ensure its smooth and effective implementation in Region 6. The said Orientation-Seminar aims to familiarize the participants with the framework for public service improvement and enable them to understand the nature of governance and how poor governance leads to corruption. It also aims to discuss the rules and regulations in the implementation of RA 9485 and to promote transparency in the government.
CSCRO6 enjoins government officials and employees from various NGAs and LGUs in the provinces of Iloilo and Guimaras to participate in this Orientation-Seminar which will be held at the Iloilo Grand Hotel in Iloilo City.
