DOLE service caravan in Capiz Nov. 19 and 20
ROXAS CITY – The Department of and Employment (DOLE) has set a service caravan in Capiz on November 19 and 20 in line with its upcoming 75th Foundation Day on December 8.
The service caravan to some identified cities and municipalities will be participated in by DOLE's attached agencies from November 4 to 26 this year. These are the National Labor Relations Commission, National Conciliation and Mediation Board, Overseas Workers Welfare Administration, Philippine Overseas Employment Administration, Technical Education and Skills Development Authority, Regional Tripartite Wages and Productivity Board and the Professional Regulation Commission
DOLE Regional Director Aida M. Estabillo has scheduled the municipality of Dao and Roxas City on Nov. 19 and 20, respectively, based on a letter of communication to the Philippine Information Agency (PIA) regional office.
The caravan which will include job fairs, medical services and activities focused on overseas Filipino workers, among others, will jumpstart at Barangay Jovellar, Igbaras, Iloilo.
"We will adopt the single-agency approach to optimize the benefits we intend to provide our clients. Under this approach, we will deliver programs and services to uplift the lives of the Filipino workers in the grassroots," Estabillo said in a Philippine News Agency news.
DOLE started as a small bureau in 1908. It became a department on December 8, 1933 with the passage of Act 4121. It is mandated to formulate policies, implement programs, and serve as the policy-coordinating arm of the Executive Branch in the field of labor and employment, PNA news added. (PIA/A.Lumaque)
