Fiscal orders release of 2 suspects in TATC shooting
ROXAS CITY – City prosecutors here ordered the release of two suspects in the shooting rampage at the Teodoro Arcenas Trade Center (TATC) two weeks ago.
City Fiscal Edward Delfin with the approval of Chief City Prosecutor Erwin Ignacio ordered the release of suspects Ariston Eudela and Efren Diaz as they were not pointed by the witnesses as the triggermen during the incident.
On the other hand, Ricky Besana is still detained at the lock-up cell of the Roxas City PNP Station as he was pointed by witnesses as the one who started the shooting rampage.
The three suspects were involved in the killing of seven-year old Jason Pelaez and ten-year old Nicole Soberano and the wounding of 45-year old Editha Soberano.
Pelaez was hit on his arm. The bullet went through the side of his body and hit his vital organs that caused his instantaneous death.
The older Soberano was scratched on the face by a bullet of unknown caliber, while her son Nicole was hit on his temple, the bullet struck his head and damaged the brain.
An autopsy report conducted by PNP Crime Laboratory in Iloilo City revealed that .45 caliber slugs were taken from the remains of Pelaez and Soberano.
Editha Soberano, who is wounded during the incident, pointed to Besana as the one who started the shooting.
Meanwhile, Cerilo, also one of the suspects, and still confined at the St. Anthony College Hospital has no plan to sue his comrades.
