RAIDSOG's buy-bust operations net 27 drug pushers
The Regional Anti-Illegal Drugs Special Operations Group (RAIDSOG) of Police Regional Office 6 arrested a total of 27 drug personalities since its creation in March 2008.
PRO 6 Director Police Chief Superintendent Isagani R Cuevas created RAIDSOG to crack down illegal drug trade in the region.
Cuevas designated Police Chief Inspector Ramir T. Gallardo as Chief of RAIDSOG.
In its recent buy-bust operations, RAIDSOG collared Jubert Echuna and Roland Alvarez of Zone 2, Brgy Boulevard, Molo, Iloilo City. The two suspects handed P600.00 worth of suspected shabu to a police poseur buyer.
The anti-drug police operatives recovered from the suspects an estimated of 1.99 grams of suspected shabu with an estimated street value of P10,500.00.
These suspects, like the 25 others, are now facing criminal charges for violation of R.A. 9165.
Meanwhile, Cuevas reiterated to all Chiefs of Police his directive to conduct at least two anti-illegal drug operations a week. In the recent assessment of PRO 6, almost 50 percent of police stations failed to comply with the said instruction.
In a statement of PRO 6 Chief of Directorial Staff, Police Senior Superintendent Edgar Layon, the Chiefs of Police who failed to conduct anti-illegal drugs operations will be made to explain their lackluster performance.
Layon also said that the Regional Personnel and Human Resource Development Division is designing a Program of Instruction for seminars on anti-illegal drugs operations, particularly on legal and technical matters. (F Lindero Jr)
