Dads dare BCPO to curb gun-for-hire groups
BACOLOD CITY -- Sangguniang Panglungsod (SP) member Alex Paglumutan along with SP members Al Victor Espino, Roberto Rojas and Greg Gasataya confirmed recently that they have drafted a proposed resolution requesting the City Director of the Bacolod City Police Office (BCPO) to intensify the campaign against criminalities particularly the operation of gun-for-hire groups.
The move was prompted by the series of killings that happened here recently like the killing of businessman Dixon Chio on October 22, 2008 and the recent ambush of Punong Barangay Ruel Cordova of Brgy. Banago last Nov. 3, 2008.
Paglumutan said that it is incumbent on the part of the BCPO to intensify their drive through intelligence networking in order to provide the public the clear picture of peace and order situation of Bacolod City.
Earlier, PNP Regional Director Chief Supt. Isagani Cuevas said that the investigators are looking into the possible involvement of a police officer in the killing of Dixon Chio last week.
On the other hand, Police Station 3 Commander Chief Supt. Leonardo Borromeo said that they have no suspect yet as to the shooting incident against Cordova of Brgy. Banago.
