60 skilled workers to be trained for Japan
BACOLOD CITY -- The province of Negros Occidental is now the target area of the 23 Japanese nationals representing big firms in Japan to train and hire Negrense skilled workers.
Metro Bacolod Chamber of Commerce and Industry (MBCCI) official Jose Ma. Zayco and Leah Tinsay, Vice President of the Philippine-Japan Human Resource Exchange Association, brought 187 applicants for their first day of skilled test and interviews.
Tinsay said that they only need 60 skilled workers who will be trained for the next four months.
They will leave the province in March 2009 all expenses paid.
Even in Japan, their lodging is free, she said.
Kenji Yano, a Japanese said that he likes the work attitude of Filipinos because they are very serious in their chosen work.
Tinsay said, "the cheerfulness of Filipinos and Negrenses is the No. 1 quality that the Japanese like."
The trainees will be receiving a monthly salary of P35,000 for three years and they will also receive P120,000 as start up capital when they go back after their contract.
MBCCI through this partnership continues to help in this endeavor because it will help employ Negrenses.
