Police officers must undergo regular neuro test
I've been missing the voices of police-singers who have regular gigs at my favorite resto along Diversion Road. They really are good talents.
According to a police-friend, these police-singers were banned by their superiors to perform on stage after a complaint for alleged moonlighting reached the attention of PNP Top brasses.
It made me wonder because 'moonlighting' is already allowed among police officers provided it won't compromise their duty shifts.
I contend allowing police officers to do extra job outside their tour of duty is commendable. In fact, there is a need to support our police officers in their quest for additional income through clean and honest ventures. We rather appreciate to see our police officers manning their "carinderia" or "peanut stand", or serving as dance instructors or singers, than seeing them perpetrating a crime.
With the aforesaid premises, I wish to hear again the voices of police-singers soon at my favorite resto.

Several police applicants failed in the neuro-psychiatric test, making them unfit for police work. Temporarily. At the lapse of six months, these applicants -- if not disqualified by age -- may still apply and re-take the neuro test. In fact, as I've been told, some of those who survived the recent neuro test were also flunkers in the past recruitments.
Conclusion: Neurosis is not a perpetual impediment to one's desire to become a police officer. It is only a "mild psychiatric disorder characterized by depression, anxiety, or hypochondria", It can be easily treated. In fact, enough rest can also help relieve a person from depression, anxiety, or imagined illness and eventually overcome neurosis.
Otherwise stated, probably, there are police officers who are also suffering from neurosis. Police work exposes police officers to physical, mental, and psychological pressures causing them depression, anxiety, or hypochondria. Therefore, police officers must be required to undergo neuro examination regularly as they are with physical fitness test.

Last Monday, I switched my TV on Channel 8 (CPU alumni channel) around 11 a.m. and watched Talakayan Sa Isyung Pulis (TSIP). It is, indeed, commendable for Police Regional Office 6 for giving the public the venue to air their comments, suggestions and complaints on police operations.
Keep it up!
