3rd Solid Waste Summit to highlight Organic Waste Management
The 3rd Solid Waste Management (SWM) Summit, which will be on December 3-4, 2008, will focus on deliberations and sharing of experiences on the most advanced waste technologies and waste management best practices.
Environment Management Bureau 6 Director Bienvenido Lipayon said the summit as a yearly activity seeks to provide the local government executive, solid waste managers and decision-makers and opportunity to look at challenges and trends in solid waste management and find ways to replicate the technologies relevant to their needs.
A highlight of the event will be a presentation of status of compliance of the local government units of the implementation of the Solid Waste Management law.
Among the topics which will be tackled in the two-day summit is Bio-gas Utilization, Waste to Energy, Organic Composting through Tricoderma Application, Composting from orbit Conference, Iloilo SWM Enforcement, Vermi-composting technology, MRF and Sanitary Landfill Operation, and Organic Recycling and Community Involvement.
Presidential Assistant Raul Banias will give the Inspirational Message while EMB Director Engr. Julian Amador and DENR 6 Dir. Lormelyn Claudio will keynote the Summit. (PIA 6/ESS)
