List of Ahon Pamilyang Pilipino (APP) beneficiaries undergo validation
SAN JOSE, Antique – The list of beneficiaries of Ahon Pamilyang Pilipino (APP) – Conditional Cash Transfer /Financial Assistance underwent the final selection/validation process.
Senior Social Worker Luna Moscoso of DSWD Field Office said family assemblies and interviews were conducted as part of the selection/validation process.
Under the APP program of the government through the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) the qualified family beneficiaries will receive a monthly financial assistance of P300.00 per child from zero to 14 years old with a maximum of three children and P500.00 medical assistance per family the source explained.
Among the conditions that beneficiaries have to comply, include attendance in Parents Effectiveness Seminar, Mothers Class, Membership in Rural Improvement Clubs , children of school age must be in school with at least 80% attendance.
For pregnant mothers, availment of pre-natal and post natal services is a must with children fully immunized and attending day care classes the source said.
Some local government units are innovative enough to mainstream backyard vegetable gardening and environmental protection measures by requiring tree planting and proper garbage disposal in support to environmental protection measures to help address climate change/global warming.
The APP identified beneficiaries estimated to about 9,133 families were from the municipalities of Laua-an, Valderrama, Barbaza, Bugasong and San Remigio.
Information gathered from various sources showed that in previous years these municipalities have a high degree of poverty incidence and malnutrition rate.
The cash assistance will be distributed through the ATM account with the Land Bank of the Philippines (LBP). The processing of ATM application is ongoing.
A municipal assessment training here is slated on December 8-11 with DSWD Central Office coming over to Antique for this activity, Moscoso added. (EA Abasquez/PIA)
