Bangko Buena celebrates its success
UI high school class 1950.
Bangko Buena, Inc. started its operations in 1971. After 37 years, they now have 10 branches and two lending centers and still growing. This bank is the first rural bank to have a FCDU (Foreign Currency Deposit Unit) License from the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas.
To celebrate its success, they held a gathering last Nov. 22, 2008 at the Grand Ballroom of Sarabia Manor Hotel and Convention Center.
There was also a symbolic opening of their 10th banking office, the Caticlan Branch located at Caticlan, Malay Aklan.

The thanksgiving mass was led by Fr. Raymund Ferraris and followed by a message from Atty. Policarpo G. Barcarse, a representative from Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas.
The highlight of the event was the celebration of the 77th birthday of the man behind the success of Bangko Buena --- Chairman of the Board and President of the Bank, Filemon M. Rubin.
Rubin has been in the rural banking industry for more than 32 years. The secret to his success? Vision, focus, commitment, planning and being well-prepared.

Although the celebrator was not around, the occasion was well-attended by his family, high school classmates, friends, employees, officers and rural bankers.
