Quebrar still Bacolod Police Chief
BACOLOD CITY -- Mayor Evelio Leonardia confirmed yesterday that Bacolod Police Chief Sr. Supt. Ronilo Quebrar is under "hold over capacity" in spite of the fact that his two-year term had already expired.
Leonardia said, he is still awaiting the list of nominees from the PNP headquarters where he will pick his choice to replace Quebrar.
Leonardia, however, said that he is not in a hurry to have Quebrar replaced as the latter is a good officer.
Leonardia was the main guest yesterday for the blessings of the New Bacolod Traffic Office and also the building or structures under the auspices of the Bacolod City Police Office. He believed that this Office will be a great help for the traffic maintenance and likewise for strengthening the peace and order situation of Bacolod City in general.
On the other hand, Leonardia also confirmed that there are "job order" casuals that did not receive their salaries for almost four months. Leonardia blamed the casuals who reported to work even without a budget and appointment.
He said that since October he emphasized that those who have no appointment must not report to duty. The Local Chief Executive assured that their salaries will only be released if there are sufficient funds left from the city's coffers.
