The day painters brush way to Christmas
About 400 painter-contractors and lead men in the paint construction belonging to Iloilo Kabarkada Painters group and accredited by Davies Paints trooped to the parking lot of Club 21 at Smallville, Sunday noon, December 21, to celebrate Christmas.
What is singular about the painters party was their uniqueness of the celebration, they wore slippers, sandals and tennis shoes, and came to the party as they were. Unlike other pompous and lavish Christmas parties where colorful balloons, decors, rainbow lights, cakes and pastries, the painters had the noon-day sun that illuminated their get-together happening as Club 21 parking lot has no shade or covering. The painters had only their brush and paint, so to speak, to boost their Christmas celebration under the heat of the December sun.
Joseph Gensaya, Business Development Officer of Davies Paints in Panay, told this writer in an interview that the December Painters Party is one way of thanking the hardworking and down-to-earth paintbrushers in training them the correct way of teaching the end-users on how to save on materials and the quality of workmanship they render to house owners. Joseph was accompanied by his paint mentor father Toribio who grew up in the paint world for decades now. They expressed their gladness over the knowledge taught the lowly painters that one gallon of Davies Paint will cover 20-25 square meters of the fluid material. Joseph said that his company is the first and only fully computerized mixing machines color factory. The megacryl semi-gloss latex has 67 colors in affordable quality and price and ready to use.
"Users won't mix but only select the color desired from the 67 colors with quality-wise technology, BDO Gensaya said.
Joseph was also accompanied by Celso Arguelles and Earl Wayne Tan, sales supervisor and sales manager of Davies Paints, respectively. The painters went home with rice dispensers, fryers, refrigerators, home appliances and other household items. "Enjoy, enjoy gid kami," they said.
