Capiz, NCCA present 'Grand Binayle' Dec. 30
ROXAS CITY – A "Grand Binayle" will culminate the province's 1st Capiz Dance Season on December 30 at the Provincial Park here.
The dance season dubbed "Saot Capiz" was launched by the provincial government and the National Commission for Culture and the Arts (NCCA) last September 27 as a highlight of the first-ever Capiz Tourism Week celebration.
The launching activity was followed by the performances featuring various dance companies from the municipalities and schools in the province every Saturday at 6 o'clock in the evening from October 4 to December 27.
"Saot Capiz aims to promote as well as document Capiznon dances and establish Capiz Provincial Park as an alternative performance venue and artists' village,"said Provincial Tourism Officer Alfonsus Tesoro.
The various participating performing groups during the "Grand Binayle" are Dagway Sigmahanon, Inc. (DSI) of Sigma, Capiz; Capiz National High School Dance Troupe; Tapaz Cultural and Performing Arts; Gentxt; CPC High and CPC Dance Troupe of Colegio dela Purisima Concepcion; Filamer Christian College Dance Troupe; Handurawan Cultural Dance Troupe of Sapian, Capiz; Hugyaw Cultural Group of Capiz State University (CapSU) – Buri-as, Mambusao campus; Tagbuan Dance Troupe of Pilar, Capiz; Caguyuman Dance Troupe of Pontevedra, Capiz; CapSU – Roxas City main campus Dance Troupe; and Sinadya Dance Troupe of the Department of Education (DepEd) – Roxas City Division.
