Petierre designated Secretary to the Mayor
BACOLOD CITY -- Mayor Evelio Leonardia confirmed yesterday that he has designated Assistant City Legal Officer Atty. Vicente Petierre Jr. as Secretary to the Mayor replacing Atty. Goldwyn Nifras who recently resigned.
Leonardia said the resignation of Atty. Nifras was his personal decision because he felt that he could no longer run efficiently the office because of voluminous documents and paperworks and besides he is the concurrent City Agriculturist and chairman of the Bids and Awards Committee (BAC).
He emphasized that it was Atty. Nifras who personally asked to leave the post because he will concentrate and focus more in the City Agriculture Department.
The Mayor expected that with the appointment of Atty. Petierre, the Secretary to the Mayor's Office will run smoothly and efficiently and it could deliver all the services.
Leonardia vowed that City Legal Officer Atty. Allan Zamora will give all-out support to Atty. Petierre considering that the latter will retain his position as Assistant City Legal Officer.
On the other hand, Atty. Petierre thanked the trust and confidence bestowed by the Mayor and vowed also to deliver his services as what Atty. Nifras did.
Petierre was the former Legal Assistant III before he assumed his position as Assistant City Legal Officer in lieu of Atty. Gliceria Caduhada who had filed his indefinite leave last year.
Leonardia further said that he designated Petierre because of his experience in dealing with the plight of market vendors and squatters here in the City of Bacolod. Petierre had already briefed his staff at the Secretary to the Mayor's Office yesterday after receiving his designation.
