Police identifies suspects in Aklan radioman's slay try
Police have stepped up their search for two suspected gunmen of an Aklan broadcaster who survived an ambush last Friday.
Senior Insp. Arnolito Laguerta, Kalibo police chief, said they are hunting suspects Miguel Saledo and Jojo Garmino who have been tagged as the two armed men who repeatedly shot broadcaster Che Indelible last Friday night.
Indelible escaped unharmed after the gunmen opened fire while the broadcaster was on his way to his boarding house.
Laguerta said in a telephone interview that the two suspects were identified by at least three witnesses who saw the two shooting at Indelible. The suspects are known to have been involved in petty crimes.
Police are set to file attempted murder charges against the two suspects, according to Laguerta.
Indelible, news director of radio station dyYM, a community radio station ran by the local government, said he believes that the attack could have been prompted by the issues that he had been tackling in his radio program.
Media organizations in Aklan have passed a joint resolution condemning the incident and urging the Philippine National Police to conducting a thorough investigation of the incident.
They sent copies of the resolution to the PNP, national media groups, local government officials and the Department of Justice.
