Garin condemns Aussie, teener brutal slay, calls for informants to come out
First District Board Member Richard Garin, chair of the province’s Committee on Public Order and Security is calling on informants who can help shed light on two brutal killings in Iloilo.
Alarmed over the spate of violent attacks in a two-week span, Garin condemned the incidents – beheading of a teener in Dumangas, Iloilo and robbery-slay of an Australian businessman in Ajuy, Iloilo.
“This is very alarming for these incidents to happen. We trust the capabilities of our police but this is the time we most need community support. So I am calling on witnesses and informants to please assist the authorities….we cannot allow these criminals in our midst,” Garin said. “It is also sending out a chilling message to the international community with the violent death of the Australian businessman.”
Garin’s condemnation came alongside a call for immediate case resolution as Iloilo police remain at a loss on the culprits’ identities.
Orders are out though for a widened probe for Iloilo police, said sources of The News Today (TNT).
On the lead in the investigation of the twin brutal killings are operatives of the Iloilo Provincial Police Office (IPPO) under the helm of Senior Superintendent Ricardo Dela Paz, IPPO director.
The beheading incident occurred in Dumangas, Iloilo with an 18 year-old teener lured into his death here. The victim who hailed from Lambunao, Iloilo was set to meet a “textmate” but was killed in a secluded farmland. Locals found his severed body with his head a few feet away. To date, no suspects were named.
Next to rock the Iloilo intelligence community was the robbery-slay of Australian businessman where at least P1.4 million in cash and jewelries were taken.
