The Iloilo provincial government has allotted P250,000 as support to Dinagyang Festival which is the major tourism activity here in Iloilo city and province.
Gov. Niel D. Tupas Sr. said that the amount will be given to Iloilo Dinagyang Foundation, which is spearheading the preparations for the festival that will reel off on Jan. 14-25.
The governor also said that aside from the monetary support, the provincial government as has been usually done will put up a stage nearby the capitol where the dignitaries and other guests can have free seats as they view the tribes’ performance.
The Iloilo Sports Complex in Magdalo, La Paz will also serve as the venue for the “Wanders” which is a two-hour circus with musical fireworks that will cap the awarding night ceremonies on Jan. 25.
“The Iloilo Sports Complex ground and hostel will be used for free,” according to Gov. Tupas.
