NGC electric service contract with Ceneco up for approval
BACOLOD CITY -- Mayor Evelio Leonardia yesterday asked the Sangguniang Panglungsod to give him an authority to sign an electric service contract with the Central Negros Electric Cooperative (Ceneco) so that the electrical connection for the New Government Center (NGC) will immediately be installed.
Leonardia said that all the requirements needed for the electrical connection is now at the hands of City Administrator Dr. Roger Balo who was tasked by the mayor to complete the documents including the deed of donation.
Under this electric service contract, Ceneco shall not be held liable for power interruption or inadequate supply of electricity or for injury to any person or damage to property resulting therefrom.
Ceneco was also tasked to give reasonable diligence to provide reliable and adequate supply of electricity.
The Local Chief Executive yesterday assured the public that once the NGC power connection is installed, all offices shall automatically be energized. The NGC is now operated under the temporary power connection installed by Ceneco to Hillmarc's Construction Corporation.
Earlier, Vice Mayor Jude Thaddeus Sayson confirmed that the Sangguniang Panglungsod had already transferred to the NGC and they are now holding their regular sessions there. Sayson said that the furnitures and fixtures from the old city hall was already inventoried by his office and it was forwarded to the General Services Office. He emphasized that some of the air conditioning system utilized at their old place will be given or donated to the City Prosecutor's Office.
Leonardia further said that the city will maintain the smooth operation of the old City Hall since his sub-office will remain in said place. The City is scheduled to pay the balance of P1.1 million from the payment of P9.7 million as reflected in their current billing.
