17-year old, education student crowned Hara Sang Negros
A 17-year old first year education student of University of San Agustin, Bacolod City, was crowned Hara Sang Negros 2009, in a pageant held on Jan. 16 with 19 other contestants which highlighted the 33rd Sinulog festival celebration in Kabankalan City.
Jellianne Camille Rose Dinorog, 17, is the daughter of Jose and Ruth Dinorog of Bacolod City. She excels in impromptu speaking, dancing and singing in her school. The final question that clinched her the crown was to describe Kabankalan in one word, and she simply answered “progressive.”
The first runner up is Agnes Marie Therese Chang, 20, of Bacolod City. A third year nursing student of Universtiy of St. La Salle. She is the daughter of Wilson and Emily Chang of Bacolod City. She described Kabankalan as appalling that included as its being clean, with friendly and accommodating people and with beautiful tourist sites.
Second runner up is Michelle Castroverde, 17, of La Carlota City. Sponsored by Brgy. Talubangi, Castroverde is a fourth years high school at Doña Hortencia Salas Benedicto National High School, who simply described Kabankalan as a beautiful place. She is the daughter of Emma Castroverde
This is the second year of Hara Sang Negros Search. The pageant, since the start, used to be the search for Sinulog Queen. It’s about time that this beauty search would have a wider scope by giving other qualified ladies in other parts of Negros to participate in this prestigious beauty search, said Mayor Pedro Zayco, Jr. – Eddie Yap
