P10M worth of hospital equipment, supplies donated to provincial hospital
About 10 Million worth of hospital equipment and supplies was turned over to Teresita L. Jalandoni Provincial Hospital in Silay City, in a simple ceremony recently attended by Gov. Isidro P. Zayco, Sangguniang Panlalawigan Members, and Silay Mayor Oti Montelibano, among others.
The equipment were donated by the Philippine American Medical Society (PAMS) based in Western Pennsylvania, through the OVY Foundation represented by Olivia V. Yanson and Ginette Y. Dumancas.
The board members present were Dr. Melvin Ibañez (5th District), Mae Javellana (4th District), Manuel Frederick Ko (3rd District), and George Gitano (ABC Federation President).
The donated equipment consisted of six dialysis machines, six dialysis chairs, two anesthesia machines, birthing bed, exam table, goose lamps, 18 manual beds, 28 mattresses, pediatric bed, two disposable chamber pots, nine crutches, two suction machines, two stretchers, two wheelchairs, and 22 boxes of medical supplies that includes surgical gowns and towels, among others.
The shipment of the equipment and supplies was facilitated by Brothers’ Brother Foundation.
A group of physicians from PAMS will also conduct a surgical mission on February 2-6, 2009 at the Provincial Hospital.
Gov. Zayco expressed his gratitude to the donors of the equipment, as it is a lot of help in delivering the medical needs especially of indigent Negrenses.
