Iloilo’s first in tri-media Dinagyang coverage
A team of broadcasters and journalists banded for the first-ever full FM live coverage of Dinagyang 2009 tribal competition.
Made in partnership with The News Today (TNT) and cable TV program Tatak Ilonggo, Z100 FM brings to life Sunday’s highlight.
Main anchors in the Freedom Grandstand staging area is veteran broadcaster Ompoy Pastrana of Z100 FM’s KBL morning program with TNT editor Erly Garcia. KBL co-anchor Jun Lojero mans the Z100 FM studio.
Qatar-based Ilonggo journalist Manny Alcalde, Rexfel Trivilegio and Roy Cejar also join the coverage team with Tatak Ilonggo’s Alex Magno as head of counterparts in TV.
“In the past years, Z100 FM (100.7 MHz) has been very supportive of the festival by coming up activities to add fun to the event and as well as serving as medium of information dissemination for the festival’s activities,” Z100 FM Station Manager Gerry Lucero said. “This year, Z100 FM embarks on another first in the history of FM radio broadcasting in Iloilo City, that is, by having this live coverage of the festival’s highlight, Dinagyang Tribes Competition.”
TNT for its part of the coverage tie-up will come up with a comprehensive feature of the Dinagyang celebration. Tatak Ilonggo as “TV partner” will come up with weeklong TV special aired over Sky Cable.
Bayantel Telecommunications provide the communication system of the coverage team.
