Bermejo wants more service on his 'day'
ROXAS CITY – It was business as usual for City Mayor Vicente Bermejo at City Hall during his January 22 birthday.
While he declined to divulge his age to local tri-media practitioners during an interview at his office, Bermejo was quick at declaring his desire to continue serving his constituents in this city.
He thanked all those who greeted him and offered a mass on the occasion of his birthday.
When asked about his birthday wish, the chief city executive made a wish in the form of a prayer that he be given the blessing of wisdom and fortitude to govern the city.
He has buckled down to work at City Hall by first laying down a development blueprint embodied in his battle cry "SULONG Roxas City" which calls for the pursuit of better service delivery, stimulating and managing the city's growth, livelihood promotion, improved operations of the city government, and a new dynamism and level of governance.
Bermejo, now on his 19th month in office as the city's local chief executive, has started implementing projects towards the realization of his development goals including support infrastructures and enhanced health and other social services.
President Arroyo has been exhorting local government units to implement programs and projects that would benefit the people and support overall national development to sustain economic growth and enable Filipinos to enjoy its benefits. (PIA)
